with Greer Creech

If you've ever walked into a house and thought, “I love it… but I can't see what it could become,” this episode is for you.

In Episode 002 of the ILMrealtor Podcast, I'm joined by Greer Creech to talk about the intersection of real estate + design in Wilmington — how to spot hidden potential, what matters when you're evaluating a home, and why the right “before & after” mindset can help you make smarter decisions (even in a fast-moving market).

Tabi Klein, theILMrealtor

Hey friend — I'm Tabetha (Tabi) Klein, aka theILMrealtor. I help people buy and sell homes across Wilmington, New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender — and this podcast is all about making real estate feel less intimidating and more doable. Greer is one of my favorite people to talk design with, so I can't wait for you to hear this one.

About Today's Guest: Greer Creech

Greer Creech wears two hats in the best way: she's a Realtor/Broker with the Logan Sullivan Real Estate Group and the CEO of Greer Elizabeth Interiors. With a dual background in real estate and interior design, Greer brings a holistic approach to helping clients not only buy or sell — but create a home they genuinely love.

Born and raised in Miami and a first-generation Cuban American, Greer relocated to Wilmington in 2011 and has built deep roots here — as a mother, a longtime member of the community, and now a Realtor and interior designer. She's also bilingual (her very first real estate transaction was handled entirely in Spanish, start to finish). In this episode, we talk about seeing potential, making value-driven renovation decisions, and how her work at The Bend brought new life to an old brick ranch in the most beautiful way.

What This Episode Is About

This episode is all about learning how to look past the surface — and recognizing that the best opportunities aren't always the most obvious ones.

How to evaluate a home beyond paint colors and staging

What to notice during showings that most people miss

How to think about renovations in a way that feels exciting (not overwhelming)

Why community design matters — and how places like The Bend shape daily life

Why This Matters in Wilmington

Wilmington is a blend of older homes, renovated gems, and new construction communities — which means buyers often have to choose between:

move-in ready convenience

or a home with potential that needs a little vision

This conversation is here to help you feel steady and confident when you're touring homes and thinking through the “could be” — not just the “is.”

Who This Episode Is For

You'll love Episode 002 if:

You're buying in Wilmington and want to feel more confident during showings

You're renovation-curious but don't know where to start

You're torn between “updated” vs. “good bones”

You're interested in places like The Bend and how lifestyle factors into value

A Little More About The Bend

One of my favorite parts of this episode is the story of The Bend — a well-loved 1970s brick ranch in Ogden that Greer helped reimagine into The Parlour House, a cozy cocktail bar and lounge inside the main house that feels like you've wandered into a friend's beautifully designed home.

But The Bend is really a whole destination. The Parlour House bar inside the main building is 21+ (adults only), while the huge outdoor area is open to all ages and welcomes kids — with a detached restaurant (Middle Sound Grille), an ice cream shop (Grumpy's Soft Serve), a vintage shuffleboard table, and live music, markets, and events under the trees. The one exception: their popular Belt It Out events are 21+. It's dog-friendly on the grounds, and it's all just a quick turn off Market Street — literally around the bend. It's a perfect real-world example of Greer's whole point: you don't always need new construction. With a clear plan and the right team, you can completely reimagine the home or building you already have. Take a peek while you listen: thebendilm.com.
